Jonathan & Sally

My name is Jonathan L. Perz.

I was born in Brooklyn, NY (at Coney Island Hospital) in 1970. My parents, brothers and I lived in Central Islip, on Long Island, NY for the next eight years. At the age of 9, my parents moved me and my two brothers to New Port Richey, FL. It was here I went to elementary and middle school. I also graduated high school at Gulf High in 1988. I started college shortly thereafter (a venture I continue to work at to this day).

About 2 years after graduation, work brought me to Tampa, FL, where I met and fell madly in love with the wife of my youth, Sally Anne. God could not have blessed me more richly. We went "church shopping" (as we called it) and ended up visiting University church of Christ in Tampa, FL. After studying with the evangelist, Kenny Moorer, there, Sally and I were baptized into Christ for the remission of our sins the same evening. We were married shortly thereafter and since then, God has blessed us with six amazing and unique chlidren - Jonathan, Hannah, Sarah, Leah, Julia and Joshua. Our oldest, Jonathan, and his wife, Tiffany, have given us our first grandchild, Lucas. We are blessed beyond measure.

I served six years in the USAF, being stationed in Denver, CO (for tech school), Grand Forks, ND and Rapid City, SD. I spent the last four of those years preparing to preach the gospel of Christ. After my enlistement ended in 1998, we moved to Green Bay, WI, where I began preaching the gospel full time with the Hillcrest church of Christ. I labored there for 5 1/2 years before moving to Moody, AL to labor with the Moody church of Christ for 14 1/2 years. I also served as a deacon for the last year and a half, before choosing to step down to pursue the next work the Lord would have me do. I am currently in a period of transition. As I await the Lord to open up a door of opportunity to serve a church in the local Birmingham area, I continue to fill various pulpits upon request and labor diligently in writing, personal evangelism and ministry.
