“…from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love” (Ephesians 4:16, NKJV).
Every member of the body has a role. Every Christian must do his share. What will your contribution be today?
Though a daily question, many assemble with other disciples on the Lord’s Day to worship the Lord. What will you contribute to the worship? How will you be spent in exhorting your brethren and praising the Lord? Will you give all that you have in the time spent? Will you lift your voice louder and more joyfully than ever as you sing? Will you pray fervently and passionately as you are led before God to make supplications and offer thanksgiving? Will you give cheerfully and abundantly as you lay by in store as you have prospered? Will you study diligently and deeply as you are fed from God’s word? Will you offer up a hearty “Amen” in affirmation of the Word spoken? Will you serve with fervor and zeal?
As the Lord’s Day passes by, will you continue in the spirit of giving of yourself on the following day? What about the day after that? What will your contribution be today as you worship and serve the Lord?
Father, help me to do my part in the body. Help me to serve as I worship, labor as I share, give as I grow, edify as I am built up and encourage as I receive from You. In your son’s name.
